InHisName Clothing was founded in May of 2006 by owner and designer Chris Chance in San Jose, California. With only a few semesters of community college and an unshakable passion for design and streetwear, Chris poured his vision into creating the brand’s very first release. What began with a handful of designs quickly transformed into something far greater. After producing his first pieces, Chris boldly set up as a vendor at a local music festival. The response was powerful—the designs resonated with people, and that first outing became the spark that ignited the journey of InHisName.
From there, the brand pressed forward, bringing its message and designs to music festivals, tattoo conventions, and countless shows. Each event was more than just an opportunity to sell clothing—it was a chance to connect, to share a message, and to build a community. With every release, InHisName Clothing worked relentlessly to uphold its values, never straying from its roots.
As the movement grew, so did the demand for custom design work. Chris embraced this new chapter, sharpening his craft with tireless dedication. Teaching himself Photoshop and Illustrator through late nights and online tutorials, he forged new skills and mastered new techniques. What began as clothing evolved into something broader and more powerful: InHisName Design.
This shift opened new doors. Chris began creating premade artwork for companies who needed designs but didn’t yet have the words—or vision—to describe what they wanted. Much like tattoo flash, these designs were bold, ready-made, and able to be refined to each client’s needs. Over time, InHisName Design built a loyal and growing client base, each project carrying the same integrity and creativity that defined the brand from the very beginning.
At the heart of it all lies the unshakable motto:
“Work Hard – Stay True.”
These are not just words. They are the creed of InHisName. Every design, every release, and every collaboration is forged under this principle. To work hard is to remain relentless in pursuit of excellence. To stay true is to never compromise values, beliefs, or the vision that began this journey.
InHisName is not merely a brand—it is a way of life. A way of creating and living where Jesus Christ is always at the center. Since day one, our mission has been to produce original, high-quality, and creative work that sparks conversation, challenges perception, and points people back to the truth of who God and Jesus are.
The journey is far from over. InHisName will continue to rise, to create, and to inspire—always working hard, always staying true.
